“If you start from the position that there is no right or wrong, no good or bad, and creativity is just free play with no rules, it’s easier to submerge yourself joyfully in the process of making things.”
-Rick Rubin, The Creative Act
Producing music, like creating any art form, was always supposed to be free - free from friction, free from external controls, free from judgement, free from rules. When unfettered, it feels like magic. Ideas flow, raw emotions surface, minds connect.
But somewhere along the way, rules crept in. Rules that were initially meant to preserve the listening experience and emulate it during production soon became barriers, fencing in artists and stifling their creativity. We introduced concepts far removed from the art, and far too expensive to afford. Music production started to feel more like a precision surgery, than a free-willed experiment.
At riffle, we’re tearing down these walls. And we’re doing this by questioning every rule that is in play. We believe that creativity shines when the environment is friendly, and fluid. Just as people shift to make space on a crowded sofa, our platform will always make room for your ideas.
We’re an AI-first studio, not because we believe creativity needs to be replaced with algorithms, but because we believe that creativity soars when the platform listens and adapts to the context.
Together, we will set creators and artists free. We’re gatebreaking music production, and breaking all rules while doing so.
