a lot has happened these past few weeks. the big three: you can put your music where your people are, sous chef learned to deconstruct a track, and the whole board runs smoother now.
let's get into it.
new features
your drops are now embeddable
every public drop can now be embedded on your website, portfolio, blog, or anywhere that supports embeds. just copy the embed code from the share menu on your drop's page, and paste it into your website.
- choose between a compact player or a square card
- light, dark, or transparent themes to match your site
- a live preview shows you exactly how it'll show up
give sous chef the full brief
sous chef can now juggle multiple production tasks in one go. mix editing, generation, analysis, session setup, and more in a single prompt, and it'll take care of it.
sous chef can now split stems
ask sous chef to deconstruct any track - lift the vocals, isolate instruments, or break the track into stems.
- ask for "just the vocals" and get a clean vocal track
- extract instrument stems from any track
sous chef can help you mix
sous chef used to be able to tell you how your track sounds. now it can measure it too. tempo, key, loudness, how heavy the low end sits, how wide your mix is. and it doesn't stop at the numbers, it reads them and tells you what to actually do about it.
- ask "how's my mix?" and get tips based on real measurements, not guesses
- ask "is this loud enough to release?" and get a straight answer
- it takes a fresh read every time your track changes
right-click to export
you told us you couldn't find the Export option (it's on the top right, btw). so we made it easier: right-click any stack and you'll find Export in the menu.
a faster riffle
we rewrote riffle's audio engine in WebAssembly, making core audio processing significantly faster and more efficient. the result: less waiting, smoother playback, and a more responsive app across the board.
enhancements
- zooming, playback, and dragging stacks around the board all feel noticeably better now, especially once a session gets big and busy.
- duplicate a clip with ⌘D on mac or Ctrl+D on windows (it used to be ⌘⇧D / Ctrl+Shift+D).
- the share panel got a redesign. find people by handle or email, and set their role right there.
- stem splits now accept files up to 100MB (used to be a measly 20MB limit, smh).
- samples from the library, and the ones you generate, now stream as they load instead of making you wait.
- sous chef can now listen to up to 8 minutes of audio at a time (previously 5).
- riffle now clears out old samples from your local cache automatically.
